Budget Fashion: Do-it-yourself Ombre Tights

7:44 PM

I've been lusting for ombre tights ever since I discovered and posted them on my Pinterest board last week. The summer heat will soon say farewell and the rainy season is about to hit the country come June. For sure, these ombre tights will be one of trendy must-have items by then.

A lot of style enthusiasts here in the Philippines have gone gaga over ombre hair and apparels but not a lot have been sporting these lust-worthy leg wear yet. I'm sure, it's just about a matter of time before everyone in the metro would be spotted in these ombre tights as well.

Not knowing where to buy ombre tights in the Philippines, I searched the ever-reliable Google for shops carrying these products and found BZR Shop in Etsy selling these for a hefty price tag of $50 or around P2,000. Each product is hand-dyed and made-to-order. For budget fashionistas like us, we tend to have a guilty feeling whenever we purchase an item for a price that we know is of worth a lot more pieces, right?

If you're a budget fashionista like me, good thing about our style philosophy is that we don't need to spend to be our stylish self. It simply takes frugal spending and creativity to keep up with fast fashion and trends. In the case of the ombre tights, don't you worry because you can very much do it yourself. Read further below to learn how!

I found this very useful step-by-step process on how to make DIY ombre tights from Hello Brit while searching online and I feel the need to share it with you.

Materials:
1) White tights (not stockings)
2) Acid dye
3) Rubber gloves
4) Permanent dye set concentrate
5) Large pot
6) Ladle
7) Bucket or plastic container for cold water
