Go forth, Shop in Multiply and Party!

11:28 AM

An exponential growth no one has ever imagined.

This is how I describe the victory of Multiply's big shift from being a social networking site, to Southeast Asia's largest online shopping destination of 2011. Who would have thought that this evolution rooted from disobedient account users who kept on selling products via Multiply kahit bawal?

Thanks to these non compliant users, Multiply has realized the opportunity brought by the boom of social shopping in the country. This discovery made the site focus on maximizing this potential that eventually developed into a fully-functioning e-commerce website.

Ever since Multiply has embraced the change, over 100,000 online shops selling a vast array of products from fashion, to gadgets, to cosmetics and even web layout services have attracted tremendous support from a gigantic clientele of about 5 million e-shoppers. Indeed, this success called for a celebration - the Multiply Shopping PartyMultiply Philippines threw a first-of-its-kind shopping-party event last October 18, Tuesday at White Space Manila in Pasong Tamo. The event, which was hosted by model Bianca Valerio, featured 1) a fashion show highlighting Multiply's best seller merchants, 2) live performances from Pinoy rock band Techy Romantics and DJ Mars Miranda, 3) plus, a unique online shopping experience wherein guests were treated to a P1,000-worth of shopping courtesy of the e-commerce site.

Coming from two other events beforehand (Canon Pixma and Freeway X Manansala event), some blogger friends and I missed the whole program. However, going there was still worth it because we got to meet our readers, our favorite bloggers and mingle with new friends while grooving to some party beats. One thing a true-blue blogger wouldn't definitely miss out on - posing for the camera/s!

It was one of the parties of the year which was well-attended by top bloggers and celebrities. We got late so we missed most of the celebs that dropped by. But for the fans, here are your favorite fashionistas!
Pioneer blogger, amazing writer and reigning in the top 10 blogger list Lauren Dado
The original top bloggers (my idols back when I wasn't blogging yet!) Kookie Buhain and Lloyda Lim
For the teen readers, here are Domz Tiu, fresh face Laureen Uy and Camille Co
Forever 21 amabassadors and bloggers David G. and Lissa Kahayon together w/ Camille and Laureen
If there's any consolation, the rest of us still got a GC and we spent it to shop from our favorite multiply  stores.  It was only valid for the night so we didn't waste any time and used the laptops stationed around the area.

Through the all-new Multiply Marketplace, online shopping which has always been clouded with doubt and dishonesty, has never been this hassle free and trustworthy. I really commend the major changes that Multiply has applied like revamping its interface, adding a shopping cart, and providing a lot of payment options. Services like these have made virtual shopping convenient, secure, and fun; thus encouraging a new breed of young digital entrepreneurs to venture into business. (c) Style and Soul
