Five Faves

10:34 AM

Jariss of Fashion Firewoman invited me to guest in one of her blog segments called Five Faves All I have to do is to share five of my most favorite and precious closet finds and five other items that I think are my closet must-haves. (A re-post of it coming right up.)

When I was asked to do this segment, it seemed easier than it actually is. Going over my things, I couldn't decide which are my top five much-loved items because it felt like, there are more to five that I could (and would want to) share. It's one of those simple but tricky challenges because I have to limit and at the same time, play favorites among the many.

FIVE FAVES:

1) Blue flipflops with oversized flower accent

The irresistible cuteness of these slippers makes the normal, everyday walk more enjoyable. They never fail to stand out no matter what outfit or set of clothes I pair them with. This is one of the best gifts I’ve gotten this year and even though it’s my favorite, I try not to use it all the time because I don’t want to wear them off! The only thing I may not like about it is that the flowers are made of yarn so it’s a bit difficult to clean. But everything else, I love definitely!

2) Gray fedora hat
Whenever I feel that something’s missing in my outfit, this hat completes the look.
I’m not a fan of hats because most of the time, they don’t really look good on me but this one fits perfectly for the shape of my face. I bought it for P200 in SM Dept Store, men’s hats section. Such a steal right?

3) Sequined heel-less shoes
Okay so I’m giving these shoes the points for being unique and so Lady Gaga. I found it in one of my thrift hunting escapades and from the moment I knew it fits, I never let it go. In all occasions that I go to, no matter what I wear, I put these shoes on, even though at times I feel like the matching is awkward. Because I love these so much, I try to find an excuse just to wear them even though it means being on the tip of my toes the whole time.

4) Black, strappy and buckled wedges
On the practical side, these wedges are on the top of my list. They are not only the comfiest that I have, they are also the most versatile. They can be paired with anything, I swear. From day to night, or casual to glam, these shoes never go out of place. I could even shop or walk all day in it! *wide grin* If you want your own pair too, you may grab them at the nearest PRP store.

5) Black vintage sling bag
This is the easiest bag to bring when I’m on a run. Though it doesn’t exactly house all the things I usually carry, when it’s crunch time, my essentials fit in perfectly. It matches all my outfits which is just so convenient!

FIVE WANTS:

1) PERFECTLY FITTING TROUSERS
For the longest time, I’ve been looking for the perfect trousers for my body type! Until now, I haven’t found the “one”. I’m short-legged with huge thighs and muscular legs (because I’m a dancer). It is comfortable like leggings and super-fit stretch skinny jeans, but what makes the difference is that trousers would allow my legs to breathe at least.

2) BLACK CLOSED WEDGES or any low-cut boot wedges
I’m only 5’3, not that tall and so, the best way to add height in the comfiest fashion is to wear wedges. I want this kind of shoe that I could wear with androgynous outfits. Most of the time, I like putting on men’s clothes so these shoes would be perfect for that manly, laid-back but chic style.

3) BEJEWELED VEST
Something that I could just put over my tank top or regular tee, and I’m ready to go. I want it when simple and casual outfits are suddenly “glam-fied”.

4) MILITARY JACKET or BLAZER
Even though the military and structured blazers are sooo last year, I still haven’t grabbed one for myself. I’ve been wanting to find one in ukay because the cheaper ones, I don’t like and the ones I want are unbelievably expensive. I hate being in sexy dresses for events so the best item for me is a rocking blazer that says it all.

5) THE STATEMENT NECKLACE
Not necessarily fringed but I would like to have one for those days when I feel too lazy to dress up, too lazy to wear heels. A statement necklace does rev up a thoughtless ensemble. :) Plus, my best assets are my neck and shoulders so I love accentuating or putting attention to them.

  12. Ooh, first of all: your vintage bag is great! And I love fedoras, they're so classic, yet completely of-the-moment, all at the same time.

I feel completely the same way as you do about a bejeweled vest. Over a simple white tee and denim shorts would be great. I've been on a casual search for one lately, but no luck--and I'm not about to make my own!
