Hosting Stint: SM Kids Fashion "Crazy for Colors"

7:00 PM

It's the last hurrah of the summer as SM Kids Fashion releases a new collection of vibrant and colorful apparels for children. Tagged as the Crazy for Colors collection, SM Kids Fashion encourages all parents to make their sons and daughters stand out from the crowd through a fun mix-and-match of its latest clothing selection.

And to further promote the Crazy for Colors summer collection, SM Kids Fashion also launched a theme song and dance music video especially choreographed by renowned dancer/host/mom Ms. Regine Tolentino, a new dance craze that kids will surely love.

Hosting an event for SM Kids Fashion

Moreover, SM Kids Fashion has an ongoing Crazy for Colors summer caravan happening (some already done) in SM Mall of Asia, SM Fairview, SM Baguio, SM Cebu, SM Southmall, SM Sta. Rosa, SM Pampanga, SM Marilao, SM Dasmarinas, SM Davao and SM Taytay.

This is the part I'm most excited about... I'm one of those hosting the series of mall shows!

With production manager Camille, she's also a theater actress for Dulaang UP

This is the "turn of events" that I've hinted in my previous blog post. I've been really down for quite a while emotionally speaking and this is one of the projects that will keep me the busiest this month so I could keep my mind off other people, my feelings and worries. It is a huge campaign and I cannot believe I was entrusted this hosting job - not until I got to SM Mall of Asia, Building C office to meet with my bosses and the event production team.

I also got the chance to see the collection which is now available at SM Department Stores (kids section of course, hehe), and gosh, the items are all so cute. If only I could fit into those, I'd definitely grab a few pieces for myself (if only, haha). And since the last month of summer also signals the arrival of the upcoming rainy season, the collection is a good variety of solid and plain colors, then printed one like stripes, polka dots, florals, etc., which would be perfect for layering.

First that came into my mind were Sarah's and Angel's daughters and Ava's little boy Athan. I'm sure those kids of these fashionable mommy bloggers would look cutie patootie in these!

Each mall show includes a runway dance show (they call Fash Dance) and all the kids looked adorable in the clothes! Nakakaloka pero yes, I had to somehow dance too since I'm taking over Ms.Regine Tolentino's part as the dance tutor of the kids. I had to explain the steps to the audience so they can also dance along with us.

Taking a break from blogging has been really fruitful because I was able to concentrate on the things that I really want to do like hosting, production work and shoots. Working for the campaign is so much fun because I'm surrounded by a new set of professional people to deal with - one of the perks of being a freelancer, you get to experience working with almost everyone!

Taga UP din yung production heads and being from the same school makes us all jive together really well despite strong personalities. I hope you don't misunderstand anything I previously said as being boastful or elitist or what. Please don't take it the wrong way, haha! Ganito kasi, it's just that, whenever I meet people from the UP Diliman campus at work, based on experience, it's just so much easier and natural for me to converse with them in just one click. I'm not a people person so usually, I have awkward moments first when I meet people from different backgrounds because I have to test the waters before I can really create a certain connection.

Even though hosting for a company like SM puts so much pressure on my shoulders because of the great expectations that come with it in order to please the client, I'm really enjoying this opportunity while doing my best and working my ass off. On one side, I'm with a group of similarly workaholic individuals who take their jobs seriously and on the other side, I get to interact with kids who never fail to make me feel young at heart.
