STYLE
For a really ordinary day, I chose to wear a simple black chiffon top with petal details and denim shorts. To prevent the outfit from being too boring, I had to put in some colors. Hence, the color block heels and the pink lace detachable collar from Chic Habit. Since I feel incomplete without an edgy touch to it, I decided some silver hardware accessories will do the trick.

SOUL
Just yesterday, I came home from a meeting and found a series of tweets on my twitter account from an anonymous user who has been trying to put me down. It's not the first time. Even in the past, a few people have placed some negative statements on my comment box. It's probably a certain price that you have to pay for when you blog. People judge you and you can't blame them. It is what it is. What I usually do is, after reading it, I just delete it. Dedma lang.

One thing my boyfriend told me is that, "Do not feed the trolls. Once you engage with them, once you answer back or talk to them, the more they'll try to torment you." And he's right. In this world, no matter how good or nice you are, when certain negative things about you surface up, that's the first or only thing people will concentrate on. There are people who will not consider the good things you have done or won't even give you that chance for you to show that you can probably change their minds.

After thinking about the encouraging and uplifting tweets I got from a few of my readers, I sat for a while, looked blankly at my desktop and thought things through. A lot of you who are currently reading this might be experiencing the same or have gone through something similar in the past. Most of you may feel you've been judged, you may feel misunderstood, you may feel mistreated, or probably you feel like people dismiss the fact that you deserve a second chance. Drawing sincere and heartfelt thoughts in my heart, I composed this facebook status and posted it on my FB page wall:

We really can't do anything about people who choose to see what is negative in us without considering that there's also something good in us. We are not perfect. Our imperfections only prove we're human. Example, in love, we are all looking for a partner who will love and accept us for who we are - the good and the bad. And in real life, this is what we need in all kinds of relationships; people who will understand us and see us beyond our mistakes and faults. If they can't do that, we can't force them to. Just let go, and let God.

  3. This post is simply perfect. Back when I had a formspring account, hate mails/questions were like non-stop. They often send mails about me being so "feeling close" to bloggers and they're even comparing me to other bloggers who are big. I mean, blogging isn't a competition. And I was 15, so I felt like ang bata ko pa to have people hate on me like that. My mistake was that I replied to them. :/ Kaya siguro they keep sending mails. But it's just so sad that people who don't even know you personally judge you for what they see on your blog. Pictures and sometimes words don't do justice in defining who you are. There's always more to a person that even your personal style can't express.

Again, great post and I'm loving your blog even more! :))

    1. I'm glad I made this post. :) Sabi ko sa sarili ko, yes may nakakarelate sa post na to - just my goal when I blog. I want you guys to relate to be able to relate to me. I want to reach out to you guys. <3

Thanks for sharing your experience. :) I love how you learned from it. Oh next time ah, ignore, ignore, ignore! Hahaha :) Yes, blogs reflect who we are but will not 100% define us.

Aaaw thanks! It touches my heart that you're loving my blog more and it's growing on you! Come back ha! :)

    3. Yes, nung na-realize ko na, ignore na kaagad. Then I deactivated my Formspring. Haters really find ways to bash on you eh. They take advantage from anonymity. So better not give them means of sending their really hurtful messages. :) Well, even though rough times happen, we also learn from them din naman. So lesson is, Be strong and never let them make you feel less of a person. :))

    1. Thanks Roxanne! The best compliment that I really appreciate are the ones when people say they love how I write or what I've written. It's not about people telling me I look pretty, or cute or anything else. Thanks for this! :)

  7. If there are people who can't accept your bad side as well as your good side, they're not really worth sulking over. It's not as if you're one of those terrible individuals who go out of their way to harm others, so never allow yourself to be treated like such. If you keep on thinking about them, then you'll always be depressed. There are many others out there who'll appreciate and understand the friendly, hardworking, opportunity seizing though sometimes stress inducing, mataray and panicky Melanie Entuna. So just move on, open your eyes and continue what you do best.

    1. Aaaaw Joms!! Thank you din sis! I know right :) Graduate na ko sa mga mean girls. Elementary palang ako I'm being bullied na. So I've really developed a strong personality na so people can't push me over. Like what JR said, "Never allow others to treat you that way."

  9. Hi Melai, you have a great blog and with this post I can remember what my father told me before. "Be flattered when someone looks you negatively they more likely focus on what's bad than see what’s good on you and feel insecure". :)

  10. I LOVE YOUR SHOES!!!

Well, anyways, you're right. I guess life's just unfair. It has always been unfair, and it will never be fair. We can only accept that fact and move on with our lives, try to live it as fully as we can. I've had a lot of frustrations and stuff like those too, but my dad always makes me feel better. He'd always say, "Why should I care about what they say? I know what my baby is made of. I know what you're made of, Paige. That's what's more important." I know you have people like these in your life, too. Your family, your boyfie, your friends, and US, your readers! We may not know you at a really personal level, but what we know is enough to let us overlook what's negative on focus on the positives. You're one great soul, Ms. Melai. Just let them be; you know what you're made of ;)
