It has come to this: after the series of bloggers conferences that I've featured here in my blog, here is the final and grandest bloggers conference (with 50 bloggers + mainstream media) of My House Husband Ikaw Na! - movie entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011.
OctoArts Films in cooperation with Bloggers United has put up all these series of events (A few things I learned from Direk Joey Reyes, There is no other woman but Eugene Domingo, When love seems like an ideal thing: Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo) to boost the social media promotions of My House Husband which is up against movies with major backing from huge production outfits like Enteng Ng Ina Mo (Star Cinema), Segunda Mano (Star Cinema) and Panday (GMA Films).
SUMMARY:
Ryan Agoncillo (Rod) plays the role of a man who lost his job and is forced by circumstances to take over the household chores while his wife Judy Ann Santos (Mia), assumes the role of the provider. As he stays at home, he becomes friends with Eugene Domingo (Aida), the next door neighbor who'll develop a special friendship with him. Will Eugene really be the other woman? Watch the film to find out!
Reversal of roles within the family has been happening for quite a long time in Philippine society but our macho (not to mention patriarchal) culture has failed to admit this. We hope that with this movie, Filipinos will come to realize that it's not just about who is earning for the family but how two people can just work together, pride set aside, and be good parents to their children.
I strongly believe in this film and if you do too, promote it to your social media accounts and invite your friends and family to check it out. In this film festival filled with fantasy movies, here is a stand out, a movie that offers real life.
My House Husband, Ikaw Na! is now showing at all theaters nationwide!
