Naka - relate po talaga ako dito sa entry na ito. Yes, you’re right. No matter how hard we try to make things work right we are just not perfect to make it because of such shortcomings or so. Even before I started blogging, I was already into fashion. However, I never really knew how to express myself, to not be afraid of trying something new, to be confident. I always thought that Fashion was just for rich people, for those who can afford the labels. But your blog was an eye-opener..that even normal people/commoners can be fashionable and should not be afraid to do what they want. You showed that Fashion is not about the price of what you wear.. I have always admired you for being so honest -- that you're not rich, that you commute, you budget your money, and that you work hard to get what you have now. You are an inspiration to all the youth who are finding their way to Fashion, to all those who want to express themselves, and to those who want to be heard just like me! What I like the most is that you are a true person.. you are never pretending to be this and that! and that's why I read your blog :)

My favorite entry would be your post, "The biggest room in the world is the room for imrpovement". WHY, you ask? It's my favorite entry because it is simple yet incredibly inspiring. Some of my friends brand me as "perfectionist". I never really thought of myself as one, I would like to call myself an "idealist". I always set these standards to whatever. Of course, I want to be the best, who wouldn't? But there were times that I got disappointed and frustrated, ashamed and embarrassed, and I want to quit. and then, I asked myself: "What good will quiting do to me?" and "If I quit, I will never get to where I want." Cheesy as it may sound, but true. The things is.. if we give up too soon, we'll never reach our dreams. If we quit, we will never win. People may not like us for who we are but that should never be a reason to change. We are our own person and should never be compared to anyone else. We may not fulfill one's expectations, what matters is that we continue to believe in the power of our dreams. IF WE FAIL TODAY, WE CAN ALWAYS TRY AGAIN TOMORROW! :)

I read your blog because I am being educated, entertained, exposed to fashion, thoughts, ideas, and style. I enjoy reading about Melai Entuna's escapades. She definitely knows the meaning of style. I remember StyleandSoul first introduced me to thrift fashion. That caught my interest and made my first ever purchase of a pre-loved item from her shop and luckily won a promo from her. I didn't know that thrift items can be also fashionable. I was inspired by her sense of fashion and also tried thrift fashion as well and hey! Aside from reading manrepeller.com and karlascloset.com, who are of course US bloggers, you're the only filipino blogger I've been reading. You introduce plenty of brands and you inform, but the plus here is we get an expert to tell us what is hip and in for the season. No strings attached, just plain straightforward info on new brands and great ones, too.

Incidentally, one of my favorite blog-o's you have done so far is the one you've had published in depotfashion (http://www.depotfashion.com.ph/2011/02/style-breakthrough/). Why? Because that article made me feel as if even fashion designer hopefuls can become big even with a little DIY. Stylebreak is one of the first online shops I knew would make it big after their ingenious take on tattered fabric and dyed pants.

Your writing on fashion, and beyond make me seem as if even a person who has talent and ambition as yours, you are always grounded. That's the main reason why I visit and read your blog, you seem very humbled with the things you have accomplished. It actually makes me more inclined to think that I too can accomplish what you have (as you can see, I am a little fashion-hopeful but I think I'm still starting, so I ain't there yet) achieved and what amazes me is, you seem so thankful for everything you have. It really inspires me a lot. :-)

As much as I want to bag that first prize loot of yours with a really nice, perfectly said entry from a long time and faithful reader, it is in my vows that I have to be really, really honest. I just ran into your blog only twice or thrice. But all I can really tell you was that the first was extremely memorable, at least for me. Heck, I'll give it a shot anyway.

It's one of those days when I am so bored and I get to amuse myself through blog hopping. It was actually Christmas vacation last year, sometime after the glitz and glory of the festivities have ceased a bit. I can't actually remember how I ended up on your Christmas post but I was reading in amusement on how we are similar in some ways.

As much as I love Christmas and had great memories with my family during those times, I can't help but be sad whenever we go out shopping. On the way home, while holding those carefully-picked items where I spent a lot of money, a child would tap on the car window asking for alms.

It's heartbreaking, and even if I want to reach out to them, I can't possibly make their holidays as nice as I always remember. Once I even thought of taking one of the hamon de bola served on our table on noche buena and giving it to the first child I would see on the street, but I can't really sneak out of the house holding a ball of meat, can I?

Oh, and I laughed when I read about relatives coming over only during Christmas! REALLY. I have thought over the years that it is a mockery of the family-themed holiday that Christmas is. As if it's a bastardized version of the holy family figurines we used to have back then. Then again, I never figured out why I still welcome them into our home wholeheartedly. It's like a yearly parody or something.

But at the end of it all, I am still very thankful for what we have been given. No matter how ironic the season of giving is to me, I still love how people try their best to spread the love and transmit the season's cheerful joy to each other. I'm a self-confessed victim, and I cherish every moment of it. A lot of times when the holidays have passed, I can almost hear myself thinking of how I wish it were Christmas already. Cliche huh? But that's how I am!

Anyway, here I am talking about Christmas in the middle of summer. Haha! Talk about a lot of free time, I can't believe how talkative I am even online. They say I'm easily carried away, and I guess I can't deny that.

1. Super natutuwa ako na everytime may ganitong pangyayari, di ka lang basta nag-iiwan ng isang sentence or isang paragraph para lang masabing nag-alala ka or something. But instead, gumagawa ka ng isang buong article na kumpleto at puno ng insights. Na kung iba yung paniniwala ko, mako-convince mo ko na maniwala sa sinasabi mo. :)

I read your blog because it is one of those rare blogs that provide a fix of both fashion news and commentaries on relevant issues. My favorite entry of yours is “Cinemalaya 2010 Awards Night“. It is quite refreshing to read about a fashion blogger writing something related to indie movies. Some fashion bloggers, on rare times of commenting on indie movies, just focus on the superficial, as in what celebrities are wearing on-screen and on award shows. Yet you managed to combine that with an observation on how the viewers perceived the film. That short observation, in my opinion, reflects the sad state of Philippine cinemas today. Honestly, I only stumbled upon your blog by chance. What got me hooked wasn't the fashion in it, but while reading your entries, I admire how someone fashion-savvy is not only aware, but concerned as well with what's happening around in general.

My favorite entry would be "Beyond Fashion: Of honor and excellence," the YouTube video repost of Professor Monsod's lecture in UP. (http://styleandsoul.blogspot.com/2010/10/beyond-fashion-of-honor-and-excellence.html) I know she is one good professor but I didn't know she is THIS good. I believe everyone else and not only the entire UP community could relate to what she said. I believe posts such as this should be watched by the general populace specifically the less privileged (who do not have computers and time to even browse YouTube) because it gives hope - a GENUINE one.

I admired how she isn't even biased regarding her University - how she mentioned that it has produced majority of the country's leaders, how it takes pride in honing excellent individuals, yet how honor and integrity matters more than excellence.

But what really struck me most was this line - "You are not future leaders, you are leaders NOW." Truly empowering and inspriring. It sends the message that no matter how small you think you are in terms of knowledge/riches/influence, ONE you has a power to make a change, you're in control to make things happen not in the future, but NOW.

The Philippines needs the youth more than they could ever think. My country who nurtured me, needs me. Therefore, I shall give back.

I love to read ur blog because it is as it is... honest, fabulous, and lovely! Great read, always interesting and lovely photos! It is comforting when it needs to be.. eye opening when ur readers are woefully unaware that we needed an awakening with our fashion sense.. and all woven together with beautiful smiles, faces and stylish pics. I like the blend of fashion, beauty, entertainment, life, love and happiness. I guess you don't need to change a thing. I like ur blog as it is! My favorite entry is "The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement" because there's so much truth in it and I really love your photos. And the question at the end of ur post made me wonder what was the "change" that made me feel like I've become a better person this year.. and just like you, most of the time i feel that i have a lot of room to make me a better person..to be a better mom… to become a better wife ... so I guess the change in me is more of believing that I can be that better person and I can make room for growth and to never lose heart if I still couldn't be the person I want to be.. because only I can change my life and I sure as heck can change to become a better person not just for myself but also for the people around me. I'm actually a follower of this blog since I discovered the joy of reading blogs (both beauty and fashion) late last year, October to be exact. I love reading your fashion articles because you turn simple clothes and accessories into fabulous and chic looks and also because you exude uniqueness. I love thrifted finds as well that's why I sort of get inspiration on your looks.

As for my favorite entry though, it would not be any fashion article but your perspective on current events such as the death of Angelo Reyes. Perhaps, the best thing that this blog brings is a dose of fashionable ups and downs.

While fashion blogs are usually centering on fanciful posts, you always inject an emotion, a learning, a random thought, or even a seemingly senseless line or two. Such encounters make me (and the rest of your readers) feel you in a "more real" sphere, basically because we can relate, and translate.

Going over a number of your entries I like, I have to give your LIVING WITHOUT RULES my two thumbs up for it's candid, surprisingly poignant, and very inspiring.

I guess that people our age always have these thought bubbles that float inside us, above us, and below us. We tend to think, not think, and rethink, all at the same time, all at an alarmingly short span of time. We are often too caught up with our passions, and what we think are passions are, only to wake up one day, and realize that such passions pull us down, and drag our feet.

Thank you for representing the whims and wishes of twenty-something people who are ecstatic to get their lives rolling, in spite the tough curves and unforeseen detours.

Thank you for giving light to those who've spent their lives shooting down goals, only to come to a halt.

Thank you for taking time to share your weaknesses that are the same hurdles that typical young adults face.

And most of all, thank you for inspiring me (and a good number of your readers), the inverted idealism way.

I read your blog because this is where I get ideas on what's hot in fashion, especially here in Manila. I like your Coachella post because the pictures got me interested in fashion again. I love accessories, so just looking at the accessories in the bazaar made me want to shop. I also enjoyed looking at your getups.
