Penshoppe's Pre-summer 2012
This start of the year, your favorite casual yet trendy line will bring something traditional with clean nautical touches. For 2012, Penshoppe is all about easy dressing with light, relaxed and easy-to-wear apparels. As what the brand has showcased in the past Philippine Fashion Week, trends we can expect in the coming months include more vivid use of colors, clean silhouettes, acid wash jeans and its highly popular varsity jackets.
Technically we don't have spring in the country but during this "pre-summer" period, Penshoppe releases a collection of modern yet cheerful wardrobe staples mirroring the signature styles of its strongest brand endorsers, Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick, Asian superstar Mario Maurer and local "It" girl Solenn Heusaff.
CASUAL COOL
Think Chuck Bass - luxurious classics and effortless dressing using closet basics.
SMILE
Mario Maurer's asian pop style, with a boy-next-door vibe to it, is a trendier version which is in contrast with Ed Westwick's. His style caters to a market of teenagers and young adults. Nothing best describes it but fast fashion because anything Mario wears is said to immediately run out of stocks!
HIP to be "IT"
As one of the most sought after female celebrities today, Solenn Heusaff has this sophisticated and sexy style that embodies the perfect female lead. For every girl who wants to be in the limelight, her style is indeed an inspiration for the next "It" girls of this generation.

The Mango F/W 2011 Collection fashion show had a dress code (not strictly) imposed on its guests. The theme was "luxe grunge" which is (according to wikipedia, gahd I hate quoting that site) said to be a chicer, updated, grunge boho look; unkempt approach to wardrobe popularized by the Olsen twins.
My boyfriend has a funny remark on this term. He was protesting that it was merely a fashionable excuse for the Olsen twins and the rich but unpolished-looking people like them who can afford the luxury of spending for designer items. Though he has a point, I don't care so much about that since I've always been bias to this kind of aesthetic.
Coming up with an outfit for the event wasn't such a problem for me because I knew right away that I could wear my rotting black fur vest and my all-around nude cocktail dress, which were both sitting in my closet for months. For my accessories, I just went with the black trinkets that I have and piled them on. As for the shoes, instead of my initial black boots, I had a last-minute change of heart and went for my leopard lace-up booties.

And as always, when I'm wearing it, expect it to be inexpensive yet fashionable enough. You guys know how strongly I advocate budget fashion. I've always believed that I don't have to spend the part, to look the part. Would you believe this dress from one of my favorite stores, Tomato, is only PHP 700?! Such a steal right? While my Penshoppe necklace is only P329, but I got it for free since it's courtesy of the brand. The rest are either random or thrifted, so you can probably imagine how cheap my whole look is. Haha!
One of the main reasons why I started this blog is to inspire ordinary girls like me to pursue their urges to "dress up" and still be frugal at the same time. Every style enthusiast can keep up with the latest in fashion, or go to social events without the need to be conscious with who or what brand, or what price the others are wearing. None of those matter I tell you.

That night, when I got a couple of compliments from my fellow bloggers with either my entire outfit or for some parts of it, I felt good about it. It's an affirmation that the style philosophy that I share with most of you is something to be proud of. I was even surprised when Daryl Chang came up to me (after she took Ava's photo) and asked if she could take mine too. I'm like, "Yeaboi! Budget fashion reprezent!" Haha.

After taking a short break from all the Christmas shopping last yuletide season, get ready cuz here we go again!
As the Philippine weather gets hotter, the country's various fashion brands keep up with the heat. Almost every label has released its sizzling summer collections, tempting you to go shopping all the way till your last peso. Before hitting the malls and summer bazaars, you may want to take a peek into some of the freshest deals from your favorite brands - all vying for your attention and moolah!
Penshoppe
Clean. Light. Bright.
Penshoppe's latest arrivals play around this season's cool and breezy vibe by concentrating on a palette of mostly bright blue and green, plus neutrals. I'm not going gaga over their clothes. However, there's a contrast of sexiness and sophistication in their clean (mostly plain, plaids, a few prints), basic and classic set of apparels that appeals to me. I like how modern and chic the whole point of their collection and ad campaign are.
With just one look, I know they'd be perfect for summer simply because the items seem very light to wear. Plus points for that trait because with our country's type of humid weather, we all want to wear clothes that will make us look clean and of course feel fresh all throughout the day.
Summer also means going on vacations and trips. So for our happy, traveling feet, Penshoppe came up with printed footwear. Their flats compensate for the absence of major prints in their clothing line. The floral ones give me that spring season and girly garden feel that I'm pretty sure a lot of girls will go for.
What A Girl Wants
Soak up under the sun in eye-candy bikinis from What A Girl Wants. From the brand that brings youthful, trendy and affordable clothes, its recent swimwear collection will make you want to step out and show some skin.
Trunk Show
I am truly, madly, deeply in love with Trunk Show's own version of Miu Miu inspired chunky heels, studded wedges while my brother's girlfriend digs the neutral tri-color peep-toe pumps! We've been lusting for these shoes ever since we saw them during fashion show pull-out that I did last January.
I'm not so much of a flats-person but if you're looking for comfy finds, then their loafers will be your best friend.
I highly suggest you visit any of Trunk Show's branches aside from browsing the website because you'll be surprised to see that the rest of their adorable items are not posted online, especially the lovely clothes, bags and accessories!
Ichigo
Meanwhile, Ichigo blasts the summer with their bestseller flats and oxfords. You have a wide collection of dreamy and feminine flats and bags to choose from. You'll even go crazy just by deciding which to pick!
Trilogy Boutique & Canteen
With all the array of sweet and flirty dresses, blouses, shorts and skirts in the market, Trilogy Boutique & Canteen makes sure there's something for the young, restless, carefree and laid back crowd.
Need more choices? Then go to the SuperSale Bazaar!
With over 100 brands to choose from, there's something for every budget (that's for sure)!
